We had the Schnitzel and the Schweinebraten. These are typical Austrian specialties of excellent qualities. Te service was excellent and the atmosphere as Austrian as it can be. We must recommend !!! A hit :)

A beautiful spot for afternoon or evening refreshment with a stunning panoramic view of the city from the hillside below the Festung Hohensalzburg (Salzburg Fortress). We stumbled upon the upper level of the beer garden after exploring the nearby convent and enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon sipping beer with bread dumplings & mushroom sauce, German potato and cabbage salads. At... More

We went on the 8 August in the evening. We reserved a nice place in the garden and had a beautiful view over Salzburg. The waiter was very arrogant from the beginning. My aunt wanted to get a small portion but he told her that they don't serve small portion... I wanted a Mass of beer and he told me... More

So this place is known for some really good beer . They have an awesome outdoor patio with great views of the city. Highly recommend the apple strudel . Had my fare share of strudel in Austria and this one topped the charts !

My daughter and I ate here on our last evening in Salzburg. It was a Sunday when a number of restaurants are closed. This place is run by the eponymous brewery. It's vast - all wood panelling, high ceilings and antlers on the walls. The staff wear traditional dress. Our waiter was attentive and entertaining. He recommended an organic beer... More

I popped into this place for a taste of the famous local Stiegel beer whilst doing a self guided SOM walking tour. It's located on the way to Nonnberg abbey. There is much focus on the great views from the beer garden which is very picturesque in itself, the staff were friendly and able to recommend good beer. Prices were... More

Stopped here for lunch after visiting the adjacent castle. The staff was friendly and patient, and the food was pretty good too. The patio was cool with plenty of shade and views of the surrounding neighborhood. I would recommend going to the castle first and then swing by here afterwards for a much deserved beer and bite to eat.

We had a delicious lunch on the terrace of the restaurant on a red hot day! Ice cold stiegl beer plus schnitzel set us up for the afternoon. The service was amazing, despite the restaurant being exceptionally busy. The history behind the brewery is also fascinating . Well worth a visit - up quite a steep hill but worthy every... More
