We found this to be one of the most interesting churches we’ve visited and certainly an Innsbruck highlight. The tomb of Emperor Maximilian is very impressive. The surrounding sculptures are quite interesting. Also enjoyed the Silver Chapel.

Having spent several years living and travelling in Europe, we've seen a lot of churches. In order for a church to be memorable, it has to be really special. This one stands out for the 28 life-size statues with incredible detailing. Admission costs 7 EUR...More

We really enjoyed our visit to the Hofkirche, right in the heart of the old town in Innsbruck. It is absolutely huge, as befits the Emperor it was built to honour I suppose, Maxilimillian I. It is so ornate with its high arches and huge...More

With the Innsbruck card you will receive admission to this historic place of worship. Well worth the time if just to admire the bronze statues and the tomb inside.

The royal court church was build by Ferdinand I in 1553 as a mausoleum for emperor Maximilian I. The elaborate tomb remains empty though, in that he was never moved from his original burial grounds south of Vienna. Surrounding the tomb are 28 larger than...More

The Kirche (church) is a memorial to Maximilian I. His large tomb is surrounded by 28 bronze cast figures. The Kirche is close to other attractions and worth an hour of your time.
