This building is on some 50 Euro Cents pieces

We enjoyed the excellent exterior decorations on our way to the nearby Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts. I noticed that it is depicted on some recent 50 Euro Cent pieces. Fun!

For openers and closers the Klimpts are to die for. Look like they were done yesterday. And the building itself reeks of the svante garde. I stumbled on this place and was glad I stopped in. It is a temple of art. Small, like a jewel box.

I'm an art enthusiast and a fan of klimt but the only thing woth seeing here is Klimt's Beethoven Frieze. I could not make head or tail out of it, even after reading about it! You are better off going across the street to see Akademie der Bildenden Künste (Academy of Fine Art) where you can see a great Bosch.

This place was on our 'must see' list and we weren't disappointed. If you like this type of Architecture then you will love it!. Although it has been almost completely rebuilt due to wartime damage it is very interesting with its stunning golden filigree dome. Used as a light and spacious display space the highlight for me was the Klimt... More

The building has a unique external design. I preferred the Klimt exhibit at the Belvedere museum, but enjoyed looking at the Secession Building when I walked in the area anyway. The building was very close to Naschmarkt and Museum Quarter.

Came for the Frieze by Klimt and was well impressed. The historic air of the building is present and the preservation of the Frieze is impeccable. A visit can be done quickly on the way to see other museums like the Belvedere in walking distance from here. Definitely worth a visit.

The Secession Building has a distinctive exterior, mainly the gold cabbage. Inside, there is the Klimt frieze and not much else. The frieze is up high so bring binoculars to really appreciate it. It is in a separate basement like room but sits high up on the wall.

enjoyed the first-hand impression of this famous and in the past so controversial building, and the Klimt frieze of course; however the majority of the house is under renovation, so the entrance fee might seem a bit exaggerated ... but have send a postcard with a ticklish detail from the mentioned frieze (bought at this museum) to an (Austrian, 65+)... The ticket price was discounted as most of the building was being refurbished and the only exhibit to see was the Beethoven Frieze. It is impressive but hardly worth €6! The outside of the building is really interesting (check out the owls and the golden "dome"!).

Sorry to say- this place left me cold. View the outside and keep walking, away.It was not worth the price of admission even to see the Beethoven Frieze. It was disappointing.
