About
The Cultural World Heritage Site of Schönbrunn Palace is Austria's most frequently visited tourist attraction. In the palace the residential and state rooms with their original furnishings and decorations convey an authentic impression of the imperial lifestyle. The park and gardens surrounding the palace make Schönbrunn in a unique synthesis of Baroque art as well as providing a convenient and highly popular recreational area for Vienna's population.

Winter Home of the Habsburgs - Schonbrunn Palace
Nov 2021
We walked through the garden quite a distance to get to the palace. Everything was completely symmetrical. The palace was restored to what would have originally been in the palace. This was the winter home for the Habsburgs. We were not allowed to take photos inside the palace.

Pretty gardens next to a chateau

Pretty grounds that reminds me of Versailles. The gardens and fountains and free to enter, you pay to enter the building.
The building itself is freshly repainted and remodeled, so it looks clean. The grounds are well maintained but nothing much to see.
Great to chill out and enjoy nature.

Not my thing.

I suppose my friend and I went here as it the "the thing to do" in Vienna, it's a lovely building and great grounds. Not our thing but appreciated the history. I'm glad an audio guide is included within the entrance fee. There are different tickets we just had the imperial tour and for us that was enough history.

Interesting, but no pics allowed

Interesting former residence of the Habsburg kings; definitely improves your knowledge of their history. Unlike Versailles, no pictures allowed inside. Gardens are large and massive. If you're into nature walks this is a good place.

Excellent

Fantastic experience! All was clean and sparkling! The rooms with the acustic guide travels you in that time. In the palace we stay about 1.5 hours. In the gardens for sure you need 5 hours but for a first taste is good idea to spend 1 hour if you have less days in Vienna.

Gardens for free, palace for 17 euros

Amazing. Absolutely beautiful and full of history. The gardens can be visited for free an it already pays off the visit, but if you want, I'd definitely recommend the tour inside of the palace, it takes less than 2 hours using the Audioguide
