Really enjoyed the hike, Yannick is a very professional guide and good company too! Although I did not know anyone within the group, the atmosphere was very friendly from the beginning and we had a great time altogether. Looking forward to the next hike!

We started out the day a bit easy then the butt kicking started 30 minutes into the hike it was very challenging at some points but you always get a feeling of happiness and accomplishment once you overcome the challenge. I was an amazing experience, one we wont be forgetting for a while. Thank you Yannick!!

This 3 day trekking trip with Yannick was unforgettable. It will provide you with a physical challenge (it may even kick your butt in places). it will deliver spectacular, exhilirating and pristine scenery (amazing how Yannick took on us trails for hours without seeing one human, only Ibex and Capricorns). It will motivate you to meet other people from other cultures... More

Stunning nature - good prana - super vibes - open people - deep conversations - pushing past limits: yea, I benefitted from this guided hike with Yannick on so many levels! The 2 day hike to the summit of Hochschwab was absolutely spectacular. Beautiful scenery for 2 straight days of hiking. Especially when we made it to the top of the mountain and were hiking a lot the top of the mountain for the remainder of the second day. Our tour guide Rene was perfect for our group of 4. He... Me and 3 other friends took a 2-day guided tour with Rene while we were in Vienna (one day up and one day down) up to Hochschwab. Aside from the physical exertion a hike like that can put on your body there was absolutely nothing else that neither I nor my friends could complain about. Rene was awesome and knew... More

Yannick proved to be an excellent guide on the organized hike to Krumbachstein. He could quickly adapt to weather conditions and pick a safe trail but spectacular enough and in the same time avoided going to places where some of the group members have been before. I look forward to participate to other hikes!

My husband and I were visiting Vienna and became very excited that we saw this option as a day trip to do. Yannick picked us up from our hotel and was friendly and talkative throughout the drive to the Alps. This was only my 3rd hike ever (my husband was an active hiker) and there were parts I felt like... More

Staying in Ottakring

Neighbourhood Profile
Ottakring
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
