We took this tour which went round all the sights in central Vienna ,but didn't stop until we arrived at Schonbrunn Palace .It was certainly worth it as we had no long queues to stand in . one other plus was that they picked us up at the hotel . Not great but an easy way to see Vienna.

We met our guide Eva outside the tourist office. Her English was excellent, and she immediately engaged the group with her friendly and bubbly manner. Eva took us on a comprehensive tour of the city, showing us all of the major attractions, and giving us a history of the city. This was detailed enough to give us the information to... More

We took a half-day tour of Vienna with the Vienna Sightseeing Tours company. The tour was pleasant and visiting Schonbrunn Palace was the highlight. During the bus ride, the guide pointed out many of Vienna’s historical building and told stories about them. The palace tour took about an hour and it was spectacular! Being part of an organized tour let... More

Vienna is, for me the second most beautiful city I have ever seen in the 4 continents where I have been. History, culture, monuments, the city itself is superb. Leaving Europe without visiting this city will be a shame.

It was one of our shore excursions - coach/walk tour. There's a lot to see...Hofburg Palace, Gothic St. Stephan's Cathedral, Vienna State Opera concert hall etc.

Yellow sightseeing buses have fre wifi everywehere. Unfortunately 2 out of 3 would not connect you mobile or ipad. So if your kids want to do pokemon go hunting then good luck! We had also a walking tour in the centre of Vienna for 1 hour. Unfortunately the guide had a very strong austrian accent and we could understand half... More

My wife and I booked the Small Group Walking Tour of Vienna with Coffee and Cake for June 27. We went to the meeting place (Café Museum) at the appointed time but no tour guide or other tourists. They had switched the meeting place without notifying us. After several calls and some frustrating delay we were rescheduled for a later... More

I spent 2 days here in mid September and found the crowds overwhelming. The traffic was even worse. It took 40m minutes to drive / crawl from the Danube River dock to the city. It has lovely buildings and pedestrian areas, but just too crowded. I would say to go off season when it should be more civilised.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
