Casino Wien is located at Palais Esterházy, the oldest building on the famous Kärntner Strasse right in the heart of Vienna, just a few steps away from St. Stephen's Cathedral. Our casino boasts a perfect combination of historical elegance and contemporary design. The Jackpot Cafe on the ground floor creates a relaxed, casual atmosphere. On the upper floors, our guests will find an elegant world of salons with an exceptionally stylish interior: the casino on the first floor radiates an elegant British club atmosphere, with Roulette, Black Jack and other games creating extreme excitement. At the Cercle Bar, we serve freshly mixed cocktails and more. On the second floor, the Ovale & Chinese Salons boast a variety of gaming machines. Moments of pleasure and culinary delights at the highest level can be experienced in the Red & Grey Salons of the Casino Restaurant Vienna.

Me and wife wanted to have some fun in out last night in vienna so we chose this casino... at reception we were asked if we want to go for tables or machines which machines was our choice. Although I told that it was our first visit , they did not say that we could go upstairs and they showed... More

This casino was in the heart of the city in a historic building. We've visited Jackpot Cafe. No dress code and a lot of slot machines placed. Cigarette smoking was the negative thing about this place

Dear ENTsinan, thank you very much for your feedback to our Jackpot Cafe at the ground floor. You are right, most of the area is smoking area, but there are also slot machines in non smoking areas. In the upper floors we have bigger non-smoking areas, but there a more elegant dresscode is very welcome :-) Hope to see you... More

It is, for me, always unpleasant to publish a negative critic. So let me start with the positive aspects – the very friendly staff, from the beginning to the tables. Here we are talking about a gambling casino with Black Jack and roulette tables. It is not a restaurant review! Casinos used to be elegant venues, not only for gamblers,... More

An average casino in terms of tables, but good atmosphere. People are very friendly, though most didn't know English. There are 3 floors, with the table son the bottom floor shutting at night. Can get very smoky sometimes.

Dear Mikeshdattani, thank you very much for your review. Indeed the Jackpot Cafe on the ground floor is mostly smoking area, but in the upper floors we also have non-smoking gaming areas. Our opening hours are at the Jackpot Cafe (ground floor, no dresscode!) from 9.00 am to 04.00 am, on the upper elegant floors (elegant dresscode!) from 02.00 pm... More

As far as European casinos go, this is one of the best I've been to. We went directly up to the second and third floors, so didn't experience the "not fancy" section downstairs. Entrance is 30 euros, which you get back in chips. You also get a glass of sparkling wine. The slots took our money pretty quickly, and we... More

Dear erazsicxela, thank you so much for this lovely feedback! We are so happy that you enjoyed your evening at Casino Wien and that you liked our interior which we redesigned last year. Concerning the dresscode you were absolutely right, the motto is "smart casual" because also a Casino has to keep up with time and modern fashion :-) But... More

Nice modern casino that is small downstairs. You need photo ID and if wanting to spend big on the tables upstairs you need a dinner jacket. Our group purchased 30EUR chips for 27EUR. It's easy to spend it quickly so be careful with your money. Undoubtedly, the house always wins. A bit of fun nonetheless.

Dear tobyfield, thank you so much for your review. Good to read that you had an entertaining evening at Casino Wien although you hadn't big winnings. Hope to see you again soon, by the way: We have a lovely restaurant at the 2nd floor, there "culinary winnings" are guaranteed :-) Best regards, Julia Steiner More

Except for USA, generally speaking casinos have also evolved in most places and are non-smoking. We had to each open an account for 30 € which wasn't bad. The first floor has only a few slot machines, a roulette table and one blackjack table. By North American standards, this is a countryside casino. Second and third floors can only be... More

Dear fstrdr, thank you very much for your review. I was confused by the reviews if going there would be a good idea. But when we arrived the lady at the reception desk told us that there were two different choices: since we were better dressed, we should go to the second floor. The first floor is for smokers and gamblers. The second floor is for people looking for... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
