We visited at night time - strange place at night. For 10 euros each the big Ferris wheel was bit naff, as the city is not very lit up at night. We redeemed our visit by riding the 4.50 Euro rollercoaster after it which was...More

The Riesenrad, a big Ferris wheel in central Vienna. Featured in several Hollywood movies, notably The Third Man and the Bond movie The Living Daylights is a 'must do'. Situated in an amusement park with some great rides the Riesenrad is the standout attraction. Inexpensive...More

We went here because we wanted to see the city from above and it was free because of the Vienna Pass. It was a clear and sunny afternoon when we went so the view over the city was stunning. However, it is a couple of...More

What. A. Waste. Went one loop at night. They left the lights on in the car which meant you could pretty much just see your reflection. No music even. Paid 30 euros ( including cab) for NOTHING

Wheel ride in the Prater park. Slow turn so there is a chance to see the nice views. One turn per trip. Lots of 'Third Man" nostalgia aboard

We, grandparents, our son and his two girls aged 14 & 10 all enjoyed our slow, gentle ride on this amazing 120 year old wheel. Yes it does cost 10 Euro but it is worth doing just for the view of Vienna, and photo opportunities...More

pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current
hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative
crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and
take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old

Once the sun goes down what you see in the short distance from the Riesenrad is mostly the lights of the fun fair around the wheel. Beyond the city is well lit. But I wouldn't say it's the most spectacular view night or day.
