Lots of games and lots of fun!

The place has more than 3 roller coaster rides and a bungee chord! It almost has everything you need to have fun! The food there is a bit expensive though. But spending a day... read more

The Praterstern is an important location in Vienna, as a train station, as a traffic hub, as an entry gate to the Prater recreation area. But that place is also a place for populace. Anyway, it looks nicer than in the past after a successful refurbishment.

I went over christmas, there were food stalls dotted around the place and christmas music and it was dark so the rides looked super cool. I had a great time, just a bit pricey having to pay 5-10 euros for each ride.

Few new rides this year, besides the traditional thrills my kids love. Sombrero, Extasy, Black Mamba, Taifun and of course the double looping. For the scary characters plentiful of other rides. Magic carpet, ghost house, Riesenrad etc. On a Sat evening it was quite busy and great atmosphere. Parking easy with the new park house. The only thing I did... More

Expected much more , this fun fair is big but when u have been to Oktoberfest in Munich it becomes small Not very crowdy , a plus . Good for families with kids . Good range of fairground rides. Short cues, nice little beer gardens inside . Some where closed due to the season . Don't select prater within your... More

In Vienna nothing is ordinary. This metro station is right example how metro station can be human. So called "Viennese stich" is present even here

"Praterstern" is a square a few hundred meters away from the amusement park and should not be confused with the amusement park which goes by the name of "Wurstelprater" or simply "Prater". On most occasions when I am visiting the city, I have to pass this busy square. It has never been a cultural highlight, but in spite of renovations... More

I would not put this on the Top a Ten things to do. The giant ferris wheel is interesting because huge groups ride together. Apparently you can even dine in one. Other better parks in the world.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
