Great place to see a winter sunset

Even though a bit of a walk from town the cable car ride to the Fjellheisen is well worth it. Great views of Trondheim can be had from the top and best done on a clear day. Great... read more

A quick cable car ride to the top of the mountain provides spectacular vistas over Tromso, the surrounding snow covered peaks and fiords. Beautiful and well worthwhile. Quite good value for Norway prices. You can walk up, unfortunately we did not have time. We were recommended to walk the longer way which gives greater views of the fiords. You can... More

We bought return tickets for the cable car to go up as the sun was setting for a dusk view over Tromso and were not disappointed. On 23/11/16 it had not yet started snowing in the town but as we ascended the mountain it started to snow and at least an inch settled while we were up there. We were... More

You get a lovely panorama view of the city. Only regret was we did not reach the peak in time for sun set.

This is one of the most famous landmarks in tromso. The night view is spectacular . It's very windy on TOP of the mountain. Photographers better wear thick clothes, hat and scarf in order to survive for your Long time shutter in winter. Beside taking photos, Travelers can clime the mountain as another outdoor activity here. The cafe is non-humanistic!... More

A picturesque location high above the island which gives a great panoramic view. Just round the corner from the Arctic Cathedral and is well worth the ticket price

Worth a visit for the amazing view, especially as daylight fades and lights in Tromso below come on. Be warned the mountain top is totally exposed so it gets very very cold up there and there is not a lot of shelter outside of a couple of seats in the cable car station (there is a cafe but I'm not... The cable car goes up a steep mountain across from Tromso. From the top, you can see forever (not quite to Texas), get great photos, view the aurora if you are lucky. The weather at the top is very different, much colder and windier, be prepared. People that are afraid of heights might not be comfortable out on the viewing... More

There can be long waits, but the views are fantastic. If you are on a tour, check with you guide to make sure s/he knows the wait times. The incline ride is very safe, with stops along the way for locals (yes, this is also public transportation). You can also climb to the top, but only if you are very... More

We took the cable car up and had a really nice towards the top of the mountain. We didn't quite make it all the way as it got very steep. We still walked enough to earn a good meal. I had the salmon burger and it tasted incredible and wasn't priced that bad for the amount of salmon I got.... More
