On my second fleeting visit to Tromso, I was here for only a few hours, and very late at night, and I was fortunate enough to be able to take in a concert at The Arctic Cathedral. The Cathedral itself is imposing, and stands high above the sky line. At night it lights up the sky line and is easily... More

You can see the cathedral from Tromso. It is definitely worth a visit across the bridge to see it up close. Fantastic architecture and modern design.

Walked from the cable car to the church as it is quite close. I had heard about the Cathederal of the Arctic so was pleased to have the opportunity to see it. It is actually fairly small, very modern with impressive modern stained glass window. It is minimalist and functional so there isn't much to see so really only needs... More

I was lucky enough to be able to hear a midnight concert here as an excursion from my Hurtigruten voyage. Just a short bus ride from the ship's pier, over the bridge, and right to the church. I would have liked to have seen it in the daytime, when the stained glass windows would have been more visible, but the... More

We were thrilled with our Arctic Cathedral Midnight Concert excursion while traveling on the Hurtigruten Trollfjord Astronomy voyage. A comfortable and warm bus arrived at the dock and transported us thru the town and over the bridge to the Arctic Cathedral. Supremely accomplished instrumentalists and a pitch-perfect soloist treated us to an eclectic program of secular and spiritual music.

This is probably the most modern religious cathedral I've seen, obviously built for the extreme weather of Tromso, we were there two days, snow everyday. It's not huge, but worth a visit, the most northern cathedral in the world I think they said, beautiful stained glass window, very very bright and cheerful inside and out. Allow about 30 mins to... The architecture of the cathedral is the main highlight so we looked from the outside rather than paying the fee to go in.

We walked across the bridge from Tromsø to see the Artic Cathedral close up and it was certainly worth a visit and the walk. Beautifully designed. It was closed when we visited but the interior looked stunning too and worth checking the times for this (I can't recall them).

We had passed this church the night before and I really wanted to see it up close. To get in you have to pay 50 kroner. The lady at the cash register (at the front door of a place of worship?) was rude. Inside it is plain except for the stain glass. Honestly, I was embarrassed for the congregation. My... More

We visited the Arctic Catherdral by walk through Tromso Bridge. It takes around 30 mins. It is really good for the view of the island. Catherdral open from 14:00 in March & cost Nok50, we went there at noon so give up to go in. Took pictures then returned.
