The Tromso Public Library has a really modern and lightful architecure. Also inside the library mixes with the decoration. It's always crowded but silent.

This library has a small sitting area where you can eat or drink while reading a number of newspapers. Unfortunately, I did not see any in English. There are books there that are in English. It is easily accessible in the city center hotels by walking. It is connected to a movie theater. Exterior architecture is rather unique.

A very unusual looking building, with 'ice slides' on the outside - I don't think they were, but that's what they looked like. Lots of activity and nice to see groups of children going in. Worth a walk past if you are in the area.

Nice architecture. A lot of books. Interesting activities for kids and adults. Nice place where to stop after a long walk in the cold.

Good library, good architect of building. Very interesting with a good view for the mountains. Everyone can go inside, we dont need to show anything, and also we can use the computers.

This large bibliotek was a great landmark and interesting stop if ur in tromso. It has a limited amount of english books but the sheer size of it was awesome to behold. 4 stories, next to the local cinema. Free wifi and cheaper option for coffee :) makes for an interesting stop in town

A great example of how a public library should be. Locals of Tromso gather here to catch up on the news, study, read, surf the web; everything. Obviously, almost all the books are in Norwegian but you can find a few English books scattered around. Fascinating sculptures hang in mid air.

Impressive building. This was my first library with "self-service". This meant that you had the option to make use of the library outside of normal opening hours for those 15 years of age or older. Children could even use it, in the company of responsible adults.I found this unique.

It was such a relief to be able to use a computer here to check and change important documents I had been emailed during my holiday. The library is a fantastic, spacious, light-filled building, with cafe underneath and the cinema next door.
