Because this is a viking country you must is it this museum. It small and pricey but still worth it. There are well preserved ships from ancient times and even realistic ones as though you are actually in a ship. Don't miss this one even if you are not a lover of museums.

Fascinating to see how they had preserved the ancient ships. The audiovisual room gave an amazing experience. Great thought has gone to showcase these ships and the ppl they represent.

Not the biggest museum, and kind of pricey. It displays a very important part of Norwegian history. Crowded with bus-tourist during the summer months.

It was a big disappointment to learn that the museum is closed until at least 2025.. We will hope to return when it reopens.

If you want to see a small Viking ship, you can stop at the Maritime Museum opposite Kon Tiki.

A little dated in style, but due to close in October 2021 for 5 years for a new building. Nicely presented informative, the video was quite difficult to follow as you needed to look at all the wall surfaces. If when I return I'll revisit if it's open
