Now this is how you make a museum! I had heard of Heyerdal but I never really understood what he and his band of brothers had accomplished. I actually preferred this over the Fram museum. I don't really like the ocean or boats so I'm a tough crowd. The space was used well and the information was well presented and... More

Thor Hyerdahl, a modern-day Norwegian legend and manly-man who sailed the high seas on rickety boats to prove theories about ancient seafarers. What could be better than that? This place was so well done and so interesting. A must-see Oslo experience. Pair it with the Polar Ship Fram next door, but don't neglect this one. It's really worth the effort.

Good museum behind the explorer Hayerdahl and those live rafts really make one wonder of these men mindset and bravery. A little bit too much to read on everything ... maybe just tired as this was not the only place we visited. I suggest on to visit.

We learned a lot about Thor Heyerdahl and his searches for proving his theories. We were aware of the Son-Tiki, and Ra expeditions, but had not realized the extent of the research! Excellent experience - and it was free with the Oslo Pass!

If you read Thor Heyerdalhl's book as a youth, you will love this place. If you didn't read his books, you will want to read them after seeing this place. Thor was brave bordering on reckless in his pursuit of adventure. His sagas on these small craft were remarkable. This is a very well designed and informative museum that is... More

The Kon-Tiki museum is very special. You cannot get from internet as much interesting information as you find in the museum. All the information about legendary Thor Heyerdahl is very well exposed.

This is a small museum but really good. My parents remember the event clearly so loved it , and my husband remembered the Ra boats that are also on display. If you know it or not you learn on the way round and it's a great story . Loved it.

Had a tour choice of this or the polar museum and glad we chose this. Many interesting artifacts and history of a modern day explorer.
