When our cruise ship arrived this medieval Castle was the first landmark in our view. It is very well kept, the grounds are lovely to walk, and the entrance fee is well worth it.

Spent a very enjoyable hour here wandering arund the walls and the different areas. Definitiely needs to be on the Oslo tour itinerary as also gives good views down the fjord.

We enjoyed our self guided tour of this castle. The setting alone makes it worth a visit and the rooms that are on display are interesting. The history of the place, up to and including it's use during World War II is interesting.

To learn about their history. Well kept building with plenty to see. Enjoyed our time there. Fun to see all the electric cars parked outside -- plugged in.

As others have said, the fortress is free; a large area to walk around and a glorious walk around the harbour to get there (if the weather is kind). The castle interior entry is 70NOK for adults and 50NOK for seniors. I... More
