Well worth a visit

Beautiful place, you can get up very close with no fence/barriers. The changing of the guard is worth watching too.

I visited this in November 2014 and was impressed by the size of it. Beautiful palace. Not sure if you can visit the inside. Even on a rainy day the colours are gorgeous.

Ordinary palace right in the centre, it's nice but nothing impressive in comparison to other palaces across Europe. Marching guards are interesting to watch. There's a park around where you can take a walk, it's not very crowded.

Fantastic to walk along Karl Johans gate up to the palace and around the grounds. Fun to watch the guards march - amazing how they can stay so official looking despite the sun beaming down and dozens of people taking photos of their every move. A lovely park ground surrounds the Palace so it's a great place to sit, take... More

The Royal Palace is an impressive building, and the guards are friendly and approachable. Even better, though, it's set in the large Slottsparken park which features gardens and a lot of green space. The sign with the park rules encourages people to smell the flowers, walk on the grass, and hug the trees. The feeling of the whole area is... More

Definitely worth a visit and very enjoyable. The rooms are magnificent and the tour is interesting. You will have to put covers on your shoes.
