The Kristiansand Domkirke is a beautiful centrally located church. We were privileged to listen to a 1 hour organ concert that was free. Beware of the Roma (gypsies) beggers outside of the church and in the central part of town. This will pester you if...More

We were supposed to go on a tour but instead spent our time exploring the town. They had a pipe organ presentation at the church and a nice town to visit.

We arrived at Kristiansand on the Regal Princess. My wife and I had a tour scheduled outside of Kristiansand but high winds at the port caused us to cancel the tour. The winds abated and I chose to go into Kristiansand and discover the city...More

The Kristiansand Cathedral is prominently located near the center of town and is an imposing structure. Like most of the churches in Scandinavia, it is Lutheran. It is worth visiting. When we visited there was not time enough to climb the clock tower, but it...More

The location are may be an advantage..Normal church in the middle of the town, better from outside than inside.

A major landmark in the town of Kristiansand. It is still a working church. When we went it was a Sunday, and it was partly obscured by construction and fences. Still worth going in to admire the lovely architecture and soak up the ambiance.

This church is a little different from other churches in the area. It looked kind of cold and hard on the outside being built with brick and concrete in Neo-Gothic style. Once inside the atmosphere felt warmer with wood ceiling and columns all around. Nice...More

Outside it looks like a grey cement castle - but once you get inside, its very authentic and peacful! I would recommend attending the local concerts here.

Walk downtown from the pier. You can take a public transit bus from the terminal in Kristiansand and go directly to Hollen. Station personnel are very helpful in directing you.
