This is the biggest Must See of it`s kind in Norway, if you are interested in military defence or old military equipment. They have a variety of WW2 guns and equipment in display, this was originally a German shipturret gun mounted in a large fortress aerea a 20 minute busdrive from Kristiansand.

We were on a cruise ship and made our way on public transport (really easy) to the Kanonmuseum which is a fantastic little place to visit. You can go round the canon that is still left and get a really good insight into what it was like. You can then wander around the place and see some other disused buildings.... More

Hi! It is so good to see that you found the visit interesting. I am sorry that the train was not running, the cause was probably needed maintenance. Have a good day! Eva H More

Our second visit to the museum, not much has changed but still an interesting tour. Very friendly staff to greet you and helpful too. Our boys loved the fact that they can roam and climb over all the existing structures. Amazing views once you are on top of the Cannon housing. A lovely walk through the woods but most of... More

Very nice, interesting and informative. Been there with my parents and grandparents. We walked along the amunation train tracks and saw many hidden bunkers. Eveything in the main bunker (Entrance) is like the germans left yesterday... We been in another big bunker aswell with torch lights which looked like yesterday they left. It was very nice to see, very untouched.... More

Hi Thank you for a nce review. We are pleased when our guests have a good experience. When it comes to the toilets, yes they are poor, but the door may be locked so you can do your business in peace, no matter what sex you are. Have a nice day. Eva H More

We have driven by this hidden gem dozens of times, and so glad we finally stopped to visit. During their occupation of Norway during WWII, the Germans built bunkers and housing for four gigantic cannons in anticipation of an Allied attack. One of the cannons is on display. This is unlike any cannon you've ever seen. It is massive! There... More

The museum is partly inside a mountain fortress built by the Germans during the 2nd world war. The views and the "kasemat" is impressive, but a handout folder to read by yourself does not give the experience expected at a place like this... We also tried the new ammunition train which the kids likes, though quite noisy so ask for... More

Thank you for taking time to review Kristiansand kanonmuseum. I will bring forward your experience concerning the handout guides, we strive to do better, and guests' suggestions are very important to us. Thank you. The train is noisy and some ear protection is available. Happy to read that you had an overall good experience! All the best Eva H More

Great visit for any one remotely interested in WW2! We really enjoyed touring the site which included a very original and intact bunker used to operate the biggest canon I've ever seen! In addition to the preserved canon and bunker, there are numerous other WW2 ruins on the grounds that are free to explore! If you like big guns (and... More

This is something special.. Just outside the city centre you find this place. This has a lot of history. One of the largest canons in norway. Ths place is best with a guide, but you can also visit this place outside the opening hours. A lot too see and a "beautiful" place
