Two museums in one: the army museum traces Norway's military history from the Vikings, and the Home Front Museum keeps alive memories of the Nazi Occupation of this part of Norway. Admission is free.

As other reviewers have noted, the museum has a very good collection. The strongest aspect of its exhibits is in the first floor where it shows the various alliance and wars that Norway was engaged in up until the 20th century. But we had hoped...More

This museum helps you understand the military history of Norway and the resistance movement during WWII. The museum is well done with displays done in both Norwegian and English. No charge to get in.

With...More

This is well worth a visit especially as it is free! (A rarity in Norway!) Spent 45 mins in there and learned quite a bit about the history of conflicts in Nirway.

A small little museum of Norwegian Army and WWII Resistance History. The former is better than the latter. The Resistance side isn't very large and focuses as much on collaborators as resistors. Still, worth an hour out of your day.
