In the middle of the main squRe it is an average monument but probably of more importance to the locals. As of July 2018 the square is undergoing major works and difficult to get close.

This proud monument is a remarkable sight in Trondheim. Throughout history the viking kings settled in town, and Olav Tryggvason is one of the most famous.

It is a statue in the main square. The palace is close by. There is also a small mall conveniently located, as well as many restaurants nearby. There was a lot of construction at the time I visited. It could be a handy meeting place.

The square is very impressive, and the obelisk at its centre is at the fulcrum of the axes that are the roads leading from the Square. "All roads lead to Olav".

You can find it from different parts of Trondheim, just walk around and look for it. Although the post is mostly a landmark, sorrounded by shops than an attraction by itself.

This is an obvious landmark down town, so a good place to specify when meeting up with someone down town. The monument is nice, worth strolling by to take a look and snap a photo.
