We did both the Norway in a Nutshell and Hardanger in a Nutshell tour. They were both fantastic. I liked the Norway in a Nutshell a little better because of the train ride to Flam and the walls were steeper and the passages more narrow...More

The Norway In A Nutshell route uses public transport all the way so you don’t HAVE to use a tour operator, although this is obviously easier. We travelled Oslo-Bergen and wanted to break the travel rather than do it in one long day. So we...More

The fjord was beautiful, without a doubt. Totally worth seeing. But this particular tour was way too long at 10 hours. And you are basically on your own. There's no real tour, it's just tickets purchased as a package: boat, train, train in this case....More

We appreciate your honest feedback. All the nutshell tours are quite extensive to ensure that our gests gets to experience the "jewel of the crown" of what the Norwegian nature has to offer. There are alternative and shorter tours to the outer fjord parts, but...More

Completed this tour today and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. One note - there tends to be a lot of train, boat and bus time so take every opportunity to stretch your legs at stops along the way!More

Great that you found our self-guided tour both easy and beautiful, and that our concept fulfilled your expectations. There are plenty of opportunities for stretching the legs during the tour, especially if you stay the night and actively hike or indulge in other activities:-). Thanks...More

All I can say is this trip was a true highlight of our vacation. It was absolutely beautiful! We went with another couple and stayed in Aurland. I would recommend taking two days and staying overnight on the fjord so you can soak everything in!

We did the tour in January. It was snowing and all ran on time. It is a mountain railway so they are used to the snow.

As other respondents said, Norway in a Nutshell is possibly the best hassle free option. We took the tour in April 2017 & very pleased with it. Amazing scenery on the Bergen & Flam railway. And the spectacular Fjord Cruise.
