As a local citizen of Bergen I have to be honest and say that everything that made the famous fish market an actual fish market is gone. It is basically become a large, plastic tent, outdoor, overpriced, sea food based restaurant for tourists. We locals...More

This was once a fish marked where fishers from the surrondings came to Bergen to sell their catch, now it is an over priced outdoor fastfood mall, where you may look at the fish -but don't buy it. If you can afford it, it's nice...More

We visited the Fish Market twice - once for dinner and once to buy some salmon to eat back at the apartment. I would highly recommend doing either - the shrimp bowl we shared (shrimp, covered with sour cream and cheese and heated up) was...More

Good to have a short wander round - I believe it’s a lot larger in the warmer months. Interesting variety of fresh seafood and fish. We ate there at night and even off season it paid to reserve our table in the afternoon. Expensive and...More

Too touristy. No originality left to it. The fact that is is under the same roof as the visitors information centre is saying something.

That's a good question, because Norway is not necessarily a "tourist friendly" country. My most striking experience was with Flam Museum in Oslo. The museum closed at 18:00 but the last bus was at 17:32... and there's no... More
