Alnes lighthouse is located at Alnes on the island of Godøya, near Aalesund , Norway. By car and through three sub-sea tunnels (each about four kilometers) and across one bridge, and passing the islands of Ellingsøya ("the home of bacalao"), Valderøya and Giske, you will...More

Not to disparage the lighthouse, but I think the best part of this trip was the drive around the island. The lighthouse itself is picturesque and there is a little snack bar and tiny craftshop with items sold by special needs craftspersons.

I normally say a lot of nice things about my locations but this im afraid is only a lighthouse. it looks good but thats all. however the mountain here is great and worth climbing.

A lighthouse in an isolated place that looks interesting for the photographers. On a day with strong wind and fog the place has a strange and mysterious beauty. Unfortunately, tunnels until there are in meintenance work and the road takes quite a long time.

We went by public bus via the undersea tunnels and several islands until we reached the outermost settlement. From there it was about a 10 minute walk to the lighthouse and information centre/kiosk. Very nice people there and a pleasant outlook. The return bus was...More

We took the ferry to Alnes and walked to the lighthouse enjoying the quaint village houses on the way. When we reached the lighthouse, there was beauty in every direction. The Nordic Sea to the West, the Fjords in the distance to the South, the...More

Having gone directly by boat to Alnes we found the lighthouse locked, with nothing to tell us that the staff in the cafe below would open it.. The cafe and atr exhibits were nice, but unfortunately we were drenched by rain walking back to the...More

Visited here recently and went by ferry across to the island which is a lovely trip in itself. From the harbor it is a relatively short walk round part of the island and was part of the experience. Great views from the lighthouse and is...More

We visited Godoy island while staying at Ålesund. It’s beautiful. Short drive from Ålesund and perfect place to spend a hour or two on a sunny day. Amazing views. We didn’t go up the lighthouse as we were short of time but loved the place...More

It was a little surprise to go there and little unexpected. The APPLE PIE was simply amazing in lighthouses bar/coffee. I really enjoyed the 3 touch screens as you can professionally check whole Norway's maritime map and lighthouses with detailed information about them.

With ferry and bus we arrived at the light house. Unfortunately the light house was closed, but the visitor centre was open. There was an art exhibition and a pleasant restaurant there. A waffle with cheese, cured ham and other local specialities was an interesting...More

The Queen of Norway recently had this gallery build into the hill below the lighthouse, and the whole experience is very nice. For here it is a nice walk to a sandy beach on the Atlantic Ocean. And a rocky beach next to it.

Hi, as you know thats an island but no problem as you can go by car. There are one bridge and one underwater tunnel. In summer there were road works in tunnel so cars are led on specific times according timetable.
