Fairly small attraction but really interesting to walk through the ancient mine workings. The video at the start is worth sitting through as it puts it all in context. Basically, the bronze age started in the UK and metal from these mines was exported all over Europe, and we only know that because of excavations here since the 1980's

We found some flyers for this place and I really wanted to go. We took the tram up to the halfway point and then walked over to the mine which is just a very short walk. The mines are quite stunning! I've never seen anything like it. The kids loved donning hard hats and going through the tunnels and reading... More

Very interesting, and a lot to see for a relativly low admission charge. Tour does include a lot of walking through tunnels and uneven ground, but a great experince.

A very interesting place to visit, especially the underground caves. A big adventure for children with a good cafe and gift shop

We really enjoyed our visit to the Great Ormes copper mines. We were very impressed with the awe inspiring history of the place and the presentation including information boards was very good . I would definitely put this on everybody's visit list if they were spending time in the area. The access to the mines is narrow and limited in... More

To delve back in time and to understand a little more of our surrounding in a safe and relaxed way is always great. These mines tick all of these boxes and more. Oh and the kids - big and little - will love it!!

One of the most unusual visits we've had recently. Absolutley fascinating and great value for money. Seems to be run by some of the archeologists so a nice personal touch and still very much a work in progress as they continue to explore and uncover more of the mine workings. Very sympathetic alterations to allow public access, which does lead... More

The variance of colour and shear size of the digging with shovel, pick and gunpowder was worth seeing , a round walk of about 4 miles. Regretfully very little information at each site of what went on here a lot more could be done at little cost
