Alpine Travel’s Great Orme Tour uses vintage coaches to transport guests...

Alpine Travel’s Great Orme Tour uses vintage coaches to transport guests around the famous Great Orme in Llandudno. The tour lasts for one hour and departs at 11am, 1pm and 3pm daily all year round. The tour is a four mile scenic drive round the Great Orme headland to Llandudno’s West Shore. During the tour you will enjoy spectacular views at every turn. By travelling on the vintage coach, you will witness the Great Orme from an elevated position and observe this wonderful natural asset from a comfortable seat.

There are stunning views in all directions, all year round, from the brilliant flora and fauna of the summertime to the crashing of the waves below on a stormy winter’s day.

Some of the tours features include:

• 12th century St Tudno’s Church

• The Great Orme Lighthouse B&B, from 1862

• The “Rest & Be Thankful” Cafe with fine sea views and good food

• Ffynnon Gaseg or “Mare’s Well,” a rare natural water source

• Ruins of the WWII Royal Artillery Coastal Gunnery School

• Legend of Helig`s Palace and the lost Land of Tyno Helig

This is a great tour, john our driver was very polite and extremely knowledgable, his driving of the bus was very careful and considerate. £6 pp maybe a little expensive but is something you would only do once.

Good to ride on the vintage bus and the commentary was very good only trouble with this trip you cannot see very much from the bus especially when sat in the middle of the back seat. I think other folk had trouble see everything sat in other seats due to the smaller windows in the bus.

Sample a trip on the vintage coach along Marine Drive around the Great Orme. Lasts about an hour with a short break and proceeds at a sedate pace with running commentary.

Today a lovely driver named Phil drove a coach load of us from the Hairspray UK Tour down to Plymouth from Llandudno(around 6/7hrs drive). He was an absolute star and completely professional, the coach was pristine and air conditioned. We were all so comfortable and Alpine Travel were amazing in all communication when booking and arranging the coach. Special thanks... More

We went to Llandudno for just a 2 day break. This was to be the highlight of our first visit to this area and we were really looking forward to this tour. I emailed the company who informed me of the departure point and times. The tour was dependant on the weather and the number of passengers. We went to... More

We are so sorry that you were disappointed not to be able to travel on our vintage coach tour around the Great Orme. The tour did not run due on the first occasion due to our second driver's wife being taken ill. I remember speaking to you and explaining on the second day that our vintage coach had been reversed... Alpine Travel and their driver Martin were used by Rail Discoveries on our recent holiday. Martin you made our holiday - a great driver with a wonderful sense of humour plus extensive knowledge of the areas we visited. A huge thank you to you.

A trip around the Great Orme in a vintage coach with a knowledgeable driver is well worth doing when visiting Llandudno. We enjoyed it, good value for money.
