This is a fantastic theatre to watch independent and quirky performances. There's nothing like the SJM as they have the ability to produce good entertainment over and over again. A warm and welcoming theatre with good local connections. Their Christmas shows are a family favourite.

A group of us visited to see Holy Mackerel. Hilarious! If slightly eccentric and crazy. It was a fast moving, action packed show with the few cast members playing two or three characters. The story was, at times a little hard to follow but the actors put their all into the parts and the audience were thrilled with the performance.... More

My wife and I have been attending this theatre for many years now and never miss the wonderful Christmas shows. Saw Oysters last night and we enjoyed every moment. Good cast playing many parts.

What a difference from last year's lack-lustre show. Eastern Angles Christmas show back on form. Excellent acting, singing, jokes etc. Can't say I always followed the plot but that's all part of the fun. Absurdity heaped on absurdity - brilliant. All the fun at the expense of Catholics - even better!

This small theatre has a lovely cosy intimate feel, you are right up there with the actors rather than the action being on some distant stage that you need binoculars to see properly. The Eastern Angles put on a great show - we saw "The Mystery of St. Finnigan's Elbow", a slightly surreal send-up of an Enid Blyton type adventure... More

What a great performance. Unfortunately this was only on for a week or so, and we managed to get tickets, at the last moment. Have never been to this theatre before, and was pleasantly surprised. Very small, but clean and comfortable, car parking to the rear, and a bar inside, this is a real gem. nb food is limited to... More

We have been enthusiastic followers of Eastern Angles for probably over 20 years but the Bronte show was terrible. The actors struggled with an over-long, unfunny, moribund script - it was embarrassing. The innuendo (which is normally witty and funny) was repetitive, crude, predictable and over-done. The plot (was there one?) was puerile and boring - after a short while... More
