We have boated in the harbour and up the Frome, around the islands and Brownsea and it is a truly beautiful place. There are many places where you can enjoy the view of this stunning expanse of water.

My father is from here, so whenever we venture over to the UK, the Poole Quay is a staple visit for us. We've got much family history here and the the history of the area itself is remarkable.

There's lots to do, but it was January so much of it was shut, lots of pubs, bars and restaurants plus a few nice shops. Unfortunately wrong season for any of the boat trips.

We visited Poole last Sunday, 21 Jan, for a fishing competition. The setting there is lovely, harbour facilities great, and even though it rained all day, I loved it.
