A fantastic day out at this place - interesting, fun and full of history - I would recommend trip here and go round all the house. History and how they used to live is so interesting - to keep a house like that these days...More

You don't see very much of the house and the estate on the drive through Stamford and Barnack (pleasant though the countryside is) and even when you park the house is somewhat concealed from view. However, once you walk up to the main entrance the...More

This is,of course, one of the most famous great houses of England and it surely lives up to expectations. Expensive to get in, and the queues for tickets were a surprise which one could do without, but the wait is worth it. And the gardens,...More

The house is lovely, grounds fantastic and the secret garden and sculpture garden are an absolute joy. My husband and I took my mum here for a day out, she is not very mobile with 'worn out' knees so uses a wheel chair, the house...More

Burghley must rank amongst the top five houses in the country. Its scale is immense and there is much to experience. The imaginative av presentation at the start sets the scene and you would be advised to spend a few minutes watching it. We felt...More

I could spend days wandering the halls and studying the multitude of art works in this estate. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Tea on the grounds was superb.

It apparently took 32 years or so to build, but it was worth the effort – although the social disparities in Elizabethan wealth that allowed such an edifice to be built by one man hardly bears thinking about. Still, I suppose the same may be...More

Visited here with an organised group which was an advantage. Amazing historically significant house with collections unrivalled outside of national museums. Good restaurant

I don't know about the garden but the parking is in the parkland just by the house and people often picnic there, but watch out for the deer!

I am not sure but I would imagine that they have to offer wheel chair hire these days as most places are required to put in wheel chair access. Maybe call them and ask. Sorry I can't be more helpful
