We couldn't get into the chapel, but the gardens and the almshouses present a lovely oasis in the middle of a busy town. Well worth just spending a few minutes for some peace and quiet.

Went as part of a local history group visit. Was a fascinating place with lots of social history. Met a couple of current residents.

The hospital was really an early 18 /19th century care home for former soldiers and the homes around the courtyard at the rear are still in use as such for qualifying Stamford residents. A fascinating place.

When the rich had consciences and felt their obligations. Beautifully designed accommodation from 1500's.
