I have visited the donkey sanctuary twice now. I love all animals, but donkeys are one of my favourite! I visit many animal and wildlife sanctuaries and rescues but have never experienced any place as caring and kind as this. The donkeys all have lots of space as well as lovely clean stables and barns with heat lamps, all the... More

We regularly visit the donkey sanctuary when we are in the area. As it is a free entry but we always donate as it is a very worth while cause. There is a shop and a cafe on site

Had another lovely visit to see the donkeys. Bought Christmas gifts in the shop. Great place to take your family.

On a recent visit to Sidmouth, we called in at the Donkey Sanctuary. In truth, with a lot of building work going on at present, it's not exactly looking its best but still plenty of contented donkeys to see and a very worthwhile visit. It's good to see how our contributions are being well spent and the facilities there when... More

Go to Sidmouth a lot and visit the donkey sanctuary regularly, last went in October this year. Donkeys are well looked after and the walks are very enjoyable. Personal favourite of mine is Dandy Crow, a real chilled out donkey who seems to enjoy being petted. Would recommend a trip there to everyone who visits the area.

Went to the Christmas fair at the Donkey Sanctuary today. What a terrific place. Very friendly with all the donkeys clearly being well looked after. Well worth a visit.

What a fantastic place! We visited on a sunny sunday afternoon and were immediately greeted by a braying donkey. We were able to wander around the barns and fields looking at the variety of approximately 250 donkeys kept at the sanctuary! It is very well maintained and has a lovely gift shop with something for everyone. It's not often you... More

Visited the donkey sanctuary November 2016. Very interesting to note the care these relaxed animals receive by the very warm & welcoming staff. They are very much at home & it's great to see the way these lovely creatures notice your presence. The sanctuary is interesting to visit ,it's also free but you are welcome to donate in any form... We were driving through Sidmouth and saw signs for the donkey sanctuary so decided to 'pop in' - and ended up spending the whole day here. We fell in love with all of the donkeys and were amazed by the dedication of everyone working there. The sanctuary was being renovated during our visit but was being done so in a... More

I went here late afternoon for a wander round with my Mum and one year old. It's great as it's a free activity (lots of donation boxes around the site). We didn't see any donkeys until we'd walked quite a long way and even definitely didn't see anywhere near the 260 on site so perhaps we went at the wrong... More
