We are both animal lovers but not particularly donkeys. It was nice to see the animals so well cared for. Café was good for coffee and cake. Work in progress so may be better later in the year.

My 1 year old has a cuddly donkey she adores so we thought we'd blow her mind here as we were passing. She was asleep when we arrived and woke up in donkey heaven! Free entry and well worth a wander around!!! Lots of info here for kids and parents about the fantastic work they do here and packed with... More

Such a worthwhile place to visit. Nestled into the rolling hills of the East Devon Jurassic Coast, can there be a more idyllic home for these wonderful animals to have sanctuary. Check out their website and pop along with or without the children, you will not be disappointed. The staff and volunteers are only too pleased to meet you.

I have been to the Donkey Sanctuary with my friends many times as well as with my partner and family members and have never been disappointed. The Donkeys are very well cared for and are very friendly! The staff members are very approachable and always answer any questions that we have. I would definitely recommend going there as it is... One of the few places without a parking or entrance fee. Charitable donation instead. Fabulous setting and loads of donkeys. Kiddies love it! Lovely walks including one down to the coast. The cafe serves good quality food too!

Free to get in which was just as well really. Was expecting to see rescued donkeys enjoying their retirement in green grassed spacious enclosures. Instead there were loads of donkeys all in one yard and the many green grassed enclosures stood empty. At first you couldn't even get close to the donkeys as they were in another yard and old... Thank you for your review and sorry you did not enjoy your visit. I have raised your complaints with the visitor team. Regarding the donkeys on Main Yard; donkeys originate from warm, arid areas and therefore struggle with damp, muddy fields. To ensure the donkeys’ hooves stay healthy and in good condition, we limit their time in the fields at... More

Even on a grey March afternoon this place is great for a visit, absolutely delightful Donkeys. The lay out was under some changes but nothing that caused any inconvenience to our two grandchildren. Plenty to see and do and all for no charge, though the visit to the shop was a little on the expensive side, though still significantly cheaper... More
