I came here with my mother and we took a tour in May, it was fantastic. The tour guides were kind and knowledgable and at the begginning there was a presentation by the author of Victoria and Abdul, Shrabani Basu. I did not see the...More

I attended a special event at Highclere yesterday that was billed as 'from script to screen', a must for Downton fans! I was really excited as it was to include a guided tour of the house with a much smaller amount of people than normal,...More

For Downton Abbey fans, it's an absolute must, but I think it's fabulous even if you hadn't watched the show. The fact that the home is completely lived-in and has all the family pictures and books and household items throughout make it so interesting and...More

Took a small organised bus tour to the filming locations around the farm and also Highclere Castle. Was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the castle and surrounds. Met the Lady Carnarvon, who was very lovely and eelcoming.

We booked our tickets six months in advance of our visit to Highclere not knowing what to expect. Having read other reviews let’s get a few things straight. This isn’t a huge grand National Trust property with vast gardens, nor is it some kind of...More

Great for anyone, not only Downton Abbey fans. The house is splendid and the guides are very knowledgeable. Grounds are best appreciated on a sunny, dry day.Several outlets for food and drink at sensible prices.
