We paid for 2 adult day rover tickets which were the same price as standard returns I believe, costing us £40. We took advantage of the rover ticket and got on and off at various stations throughout the day including a cider place. Good day...More

Excellent - visited with my wife and spent all day enjoying steam nostalgia. Even with a minor signalling problem.

Have visited the railway several times. Stations always well maintained with beautiful flower displays. Always enjoy travelling back in time on the steam trains. Lucky enough to get a compartment on the return journey to Bishops Lydeard.

There is something for everyone whether you are a train buff or not. Vintage trains but clean and comfortable. Minehead station offers lots to do and see , great cafe, shops and book stalls. All just a few yards from the beach and town.

As noted there are lots of nice places in MInehead. I'd recommend the Wheelhouse Cafe, 5 min walk from station. Also the cafe on the seafront is OK for the basics.

Minehead is fine for older people. My Mum gets taken up the Avenue (high st) in her wheelchair. Minehead has a lot of older people as residents and visitors and they all manage. Enjoy your visit.
