a visit to this museum enables you to imagine what life in the 1850's was like and is therefore a moving experience. there is no admission fee but donations are greatly appreciated as the museum is run by volunteers.

what a superb resource showing how the textile industry worked when it was a cottage industry. Working looms and spinning equipment. Extremely knowledgeablestaff. And a good cafe

Parking around the back at the crocket coub or in the street. Only open at weekends and bank ho,idays between 2 and 5 or 1 and 4 in the winter. Staffed by volunteers, the way it is presented is lovely. They dress in era clothing....More

Recently renovated and with mobility access we found it a very interesting place to visit .Weaving demonstrations by people in the costumes of that period,very good coffee shop and helpful volunteers.
