Good local musum

A good local museum with lots of local interest especially the WW1 exhibition. More investment would be beneficial - and certainly it should not be closed.

What a great way to provide knowledge of the local area, from prehistory, through all the ages and tongue current day. It is not very interactive but the information brings it all to life, and there are some activities for the kids. The proof of how good is the fact that our kids (age 8 and 10) have been going... While I wouldn't travel miles out of your way to visit, if you're in the locality and have a couple of hours to burn, it's worth dropping in. The old vehicles downstairs are well preserved and presented and there's a lot of material on local industry and heritage. It's a great shame good local museums such as this one now... More

I've lived in Huddersfield for 30 years, and the museum has NEVER changed it's layout, I think there is a "few" new "little" changes which are barely noticeable, but, if you haven't been before, or going for the kids then sure, it's a nice place to go, I however know the place like the back of my hand so going... lots of local history to be found in this grand building, I like the fact they still have exhibits from when I was a child and these now entertaining my kids. Doesn't cost a penny to visit... Wow

Benn coming to Tolson since I was a small child and now it's a favourite place to spend a couple of hours with my son. Some of the exhibitions have even helped his with his homework projects. The place is very special x

I have been going to tolson museum since I was about 6 years old, I'm now 45. I brought my children and they bring there children, it is part of my history and an amazing place to bring the children for knowledge and picnic.

This is a wonderful Museum, there are two floors of really interesting Huddersfield artifax, and several very good tableaux, excellent for families and solo alike.
