Really good gardens, laid out very well and some interesting plantings. Lots of "rooms" to explore in the gardens and many different levels. There is far more walking available than we expected - excellent.

Enjoyed a good 3 hours here. Had a look at all the gardens - there is experimentation with planting which does not requite additional watering. Nice sandwich lunch but then we were blessed with good weather (no cover if weather inclement). There are longer walks...More

When we first saw that the National Trust was changing the style of some of the garden at Mottistone and introducing more plants which can cope with arid conditions, we were very disappointed as it radically changed the cottage garden appearance of the lower gardens....More

Not a huge place but the flowers etc and wooded areas are stunning. Some of the terraces are a a little steep but I did observe wheelchair users able to see some of the areas

The garden is varied and colourful. It is well maintained and has a cottage garden feel in the herbaecious borders and the rose garden. The house (not often open to the public) complements the gardens and can be observed from different view points. The dry...More

We visited Mottistone Gardens on the bank Holiday weekend when the House was open. The owner greeted everyone and it was very interesting. The gardens were beautiful as well although it was raining at the time.

Hello My husband uses a mobility scooter. Are these OK to use here or do you hire wheelchairs? Thanks Lynne

Hi, yes you can use a mobility scooter but we do have a wheelchair if this is easier.
