The castle is being renovated so the days when this has lots of books everywhere seem to be long gone. There was a few books on sale but nothing of interest and they seemed to be relatively specialist. Sad but there are much better options...More

There is a small selection of books but it is a bookshop in a castle. Nice view of the village. Short walk but worthwhile.

This book store consists of a few shelving units full of books that would not likely sell if they were in the other bookshops. If it raises money for the Castle then it is worth looking here but otherwise not much to see.

This is a cute series of shelves set out below Hay Castle with an honesty box for your cash. You might find a gem here, or you might not!

Good selection of books both below the castle and up at the top. very cheap and donation is made by honesty box. At £1 per paperback you cant go wrong. lovely view from the top and nice garden at the rear.

Enjoyed seeing all the books when we walked through the gate.It works on an honesty box payment scheme. Only 50p a paperback and £1 a hardback. Bargains!

Unusual to say the least - unless you look through the castle gate you would not realise the either side of the wall are bookshelves built onto the wall. All books are used, but there is a pretty good selection, more so if you are...More

The whole concept of an "honest bookshop" is great. This was my first visit of one and I loved it. There is actually quite a selection of books of many different genres, although you probably need some luck to find exactly what you were looking...More

Honesty book store at base of castle, lovely grounds to then sit and read. Can wander around castle with nice views of town. Very relaxing.
