We visited The Dome as we understood it to be the 2nd largest unsupported dome in Europe. It’s an impressive space, with a diameter of 46metres, built in 1882 for the Royal Devonshire Hospital, now part of the University of Derby’s Buxton Campus. There is...More

An amazing building with a fascinating history. Many events to go to through the year or a great lunch catered for by the University students. Check out the giant pendulum at the centre and the echo!

Free to enter, although it is part of the University. We enjoyed lunch there and were free to wander round. Its history is fascinating we visited twice and were still in awe of this place.
