Not always open to the public so it is well worth a visit when it is. The property is occupied by a family and thus only the ground floor and one of the staircases is available for the public to view. This may be disappointing...More

Because it was pouring with rain, we could only visit the house, which is what this review is about. For £6.70 you get to see only three rooms (one of which you couldn't even fully walk round as most of it was cordoned off!) and...More

Thank you for your review, it is always a shame when the weather is not ideal as the house and gardens look best in the glorious sunshine. I would still emplore you to have walked around the gardens though and up the terrace (on the...More

We visited on Sat 7 April. Arriving early, we were greeted outside the closed gate by another NT member who said she'd called the NT and they'd informed her that the house was not open at all in 2018. We're glad we persisted as the...More

Delightful house to visit. Has lots of atmosphere. The public rooms feel comfortable and welcoming. One could easily imagine sitting down and feeling at home. Lots of pictures and other details about the family. Pleasant guides - almost too keen to help. Note this house...More

A small property by NT standards but interesting and well worth a visit. It is only open on Wednesday afternoons and (I think Saturdays). After a walk round the house and a good walk round the grounds you can go to the village hall and...More

The house and estate is only open on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons between 2 and 5.30pm. Parking is on grass only and on busy days you may not find a spot. There are only three rooms open inside the house, and these are only on...More

Beautiful house, okay only so many rooms you can view, but well worth it. We walked around the gardens with spectacular views from the top of the garden. Beautiful trees, leaves were starting to fall, lovely autumnal day.

The family still live there and don't want strangers walking around their property. About 80% is private, cant take pictures, many rules to follow and only 3 rooms to see. Visitors are just an annoyance to the family but they need our money because of...More

The grounds open at 2:00 but it is possible to walk around the lake by the overflow carpark before. Good grass area for a picnic lunch too!

The paths are quite good, but I think they would be very hard going for a wheelchair and some of the paths are quite steep in places and there are steps to negotiate. I hope this has been of help to you..
