Just off the A303 but could be many miles away. Surrounded by traditional orchards and protected by a high wall. The garden is expertly maintained. Only disappointment was to find all sandwiches sold out by 12.45.

One of the more out-of-the-way small gardens the National Trust maintains. A nice, well laid out and maintained garden, it offers a peaceful half hour of wandering through the various "garden rooms", which are well kept mostly by the Trust's volunteer force. The tea room...More

Visited the gardens on the way home from Montacute house, the garden was a delight, especially sitting on the swing over looking the pond. Woodland walk was also nice. Disappointed that we could only see two rooms in the house , due to the rest...More

We spent a lovely afternoon here. The garden tour was a nice touch. It was a nice way to spend a couple of hours on a sunny afternoon. The woodland walk was my favourite part as I loved sporting all the birds.

There are so many National Trust properties in very close range to each other here, it makes sense to double or even triple up. Tintinhull was the perfect add on after Barrington court for a lunch stop. Although small the gardens are beautifully presented and...More

A really nice and well looked after garden. Kids enjoyed it and it was a lovely walk around for everyone.

Smashing cream tea. Highly recommended. Nice seating area in the courtyard. After looking round the NAtional Trust gardens, you can work up an appetite for lunch or an evening meal at the Crown and Victoria, just a stones throw away.

Only a couple of rooms of the house are open for viewing - both on the ground floor. Whilst not extensively furnished they do serve to illustrate what life was like in this small manor house. It is the gardens that hold the most interest....More

We are NT yearly members and when visiting Somerset we took our young grand daughters on a sunny afternoon visit to this house. The car park us in a field and a 10 minute walk through an apple orchard. There is a little cafe with...More

A garden well worth seeking out: lovely tranquil atmosphere & attractively presented. It is however pretty small & I assume gets crowded in the summer: I imagine the limited parking gets difficult too when busy. Helpful, pleasant staff and limited access to the house.

Hi Sarah, Dogs are welcome in the courtyard where the small shop and tearoom are but they aren't allowed into the gardens. If you do go you will understand why, but the garden 'rooms' wouldn't be appropriate for visitors... More
