Nelson's Monument is on thevery far end of Yarmouth seafront so easily missed. A very imposing statue it is to with Britannia on the top. Well worth a look just for the history.

When in Gt Yarmouth I visited the monument and what a Trophy to the man it is intended for, I understand it is open at certain times but unfortunately this time it was not open.

Unexpected monument, information boards and worth a look if somewhat out of the way, in rather an industrial area.

Hard to find, but worth the effort. The monument is tucked away in the old quayside, best accessed via the promenade road (travel South from the centre)

It's interesting to discover Nelson's ties to Norfolk and Great Yarmouth, and this monument is worth a visit if you're interested in history. Unfortunately this landmark is located well within the industrial estate, which takes away some of its charm.

An interesting monument to Nelson. The information around it is very informative as is the picture of the column when it was built. It shows it was built next to the sea. Now it quite a way from the sea shore. Probably why the industrial...More
