This is a rather out of town venue bit worth a visit. Parking is fine and of no problem.T there is a lot to learn about Great Yarmoouth here.

I have been visitng Yarmouth for many years and now live here, but only recently got round to visiting the Pottery. I've known that its a visitor attraction for a few years now, although had not realised that there was a museum as well! For me, the most interesting part was the building, it is very old and a sort... More

We happened to spot the sign and popped in, & were pleasantly surprised. Lot of history with the people there telling us loads of facts about the place.

i found the smokehouse very interesting learning about the history of great yarmouth and the fisher people , how they used to gut the fish and also the potteries and chatting to Ernie who regaled us with tales of the past and showed us some 1,000,000 year old items .... the whole place is made up of timbers from shipwrecks

I cannot recommend this place enough! Me and a colleague supported three of our customers with learning difficulties here and they loved every second! From the wonderful friendly staff to the making of their pots they couldn't have been better. Ernie was an absolute gem to the guys and they loved his company, they walked away with a smile and... We spent a couple of hours here with two children (aged 3 1/2 and 6) and had a great time. There's lots of artefacts (for example a prison door from the middle ages or part of a whales skull) scattered, somewhat at random, around and I think that that works well for children. There's lot of places to look for... More

I had often wondered how the fishing industry worked in this area, and when my wife took me to the Historic smokehouse, I was fascinated by the exhibits, and the excellent information provided by the staff. I had a long conversation with one of the ladies about pottery and how the lovely old building worked and evolved over the years.... More
