Fantastic view on the river

Love this bridge and even though visited lots of times can't help but take photos every time we visit. It look lovely on a night when it is lit up.

The Millennium bridge's shape is based on an 'Eyelid' which opens and closes to allow boats to pass under it. This is a Pedestrian and cycle access bridge which is illuminated by colour changing lighting and can be accessed from Newcastle and Gateshead.

When In Newcastle make sure you take a walk along the river! There are lots of bridges but my favourite is the millennium bridge! Good for pictures and very good on a sunny day

The bridge looks fab lit up at night. Gorgeous view from hotel Malmaison. A walk across gives an excellent view of both sides of the river

Stayed in the Malmaison Hotel just beside the Millennium Bridge and loved watching the colours change on the bridge and reflect in the water. Also had the pleasure of seeing the bridge lift for a boat coming up the Tyne, fabulous sight

Restruants close by. Amazing walk along the Tyne, extrodinary views along the river, would be fun for kids but you'd have to keep a close eye on them since its busy and you have the river.

The bridge is a convenient way to get to the other side of the water. At night the bridge is well lit and provides nice views.

Few British councils have made as much of an investment in recent years in establishing their cultural and artistic credentials as Gateshead.
