Impressive natural caverns that have been mined for ochre and iron ore over 4,500 years. Visit nine impressive caverns, going down around 100ft (31m) underground. Displays throughout. Spectacular underground projections. Great Cafe and Shop, Picnic and children's play area (can all be visited separately from the Caves). Ample free parking. Special events through the year. Exciting Deep Level adventure caving activities. Great for all the family.

It was a pleasure to visit somewhere where many things were left to the imagination. Mining tools were there for us to see with only minimal signage but just enough. You get a real feeling for how it must have been for those people who spent their lives working in this fascinating place.

The best cave visit I've ever been on! The complete setup in the caves was done with precision and it even included shadows of workers talking&working, along with sounds that would of been heard in that era.The writings around the caves covered so much history which made it very informative and certainly eye opening. From a ghost hunters point of view... My partner and I stumbled across Clearwell last month on our way home. We decided to take a walk through the museum and caves, which this alone was a fantastic experience. So we decided to book in for the Deep level caving experience. At only £25 per adult for three hours it is a total bargain. We got kitted up... More

We eventually got around to booking for the semi-deep tour for the whole family and we had a great time. Our guide, Claire, was so knowledgeable... More

I remember visiting at Christmas and was pleased that the entrance fee included a free present for my child. Everywhere was lit up and looked pretty. Overall a great day out.
