Lovely old ruins

Not a great deal here but lovely gardens and a small castle ruins to look around. Lovely views. Clean and tidy and right by a costal walk.

The Site of Sansfoot Castle is a nice spot hidden away near Weymouth Sailing club with great views of Portland which is a bit BGOBO ask guess that was the point ! Along with Portlabd Castle together the canons either side of the inlet were designed to stop the French invasion feared byHenry VIII. There's goodinterpretation and access to the... More

And a fab view of Portland Harbour. The gardens at the Castle are beautifully kept. And the café serves a good hot chocolate.

Great views and a small castle ruin to explore; lovely gardens and a café kiosk to enjoy refreshments al fresco. Lots of grassy slopes to let children run around and have fun but watch them near the pond! Free parking on the roadside.

We were fortunate to have a holiday rental right opposite the castle and its park. Clean tidy and well tended gardens and lawn with a child-friendly castle ruin to explore, all set against a stunning backdrop of the sea and Portland harbour and Chesill Beach.

There's not too much to see here but it was nice to get off the main road and sit in the gardens. The castle is one of Henry VIII's ruins and quite interesting.

Beautiful, peaceful garden leading to the ruins of Sandsfoot Castle. I love the fact that it is ruins and has not been made to look like it's being refurbished on the regular (though I'm not saying that it hasn't been). It is definitely worth a visit, where you can see the castle itself, read the snippets of information on the... More

Lovely gardens to visit and the view is fab shame about the castle as it has nearly all fallen over the edge and vanished no more view of 'old Nick' that's one the wall which I can remember seeing as a kid

The last time I came to this fort it was overgrown and neglected now re-storded with a walkway around the inside well worth a visit for the great views across to Portland
