This 19th century fort includes a museum highlighting Weymouh's role in Britain's naval history. Built by the Victorians to protect Portland Harbour, Nothe Fort is one of the best preserved forts of its kind. The advances in technology that affected the fort are explained through many displays, exhibits and audio visual facilities located on the ramparts, gun decks and maze of underground passageways. Enjoy the stunning and far reaching views of the Jurassic Coast from the picnic areas on the Ramparts. These will provide one of the best vantage points on the south coast.

Have visited Nothe Fort on several occasions, but wanted to go this year as seen advertised Matchbox Fleet exhibition. Was amazed at what the gentleman had managed to build out of matchsticks and the old wooden matchboxes. He had even made the anchor chains, aeroplanes,...More

A wonderful time seeing the moonlight swing band at the forte. We took a picnic and had a lovely time listening to the band. As always staff very friendly and helpful. A great time listening to a great band on a summers evening.

A great day enjoyed by the whole family, from my toddler to grandad. Reasonably priced with child free, the mouse hunt held the attention of my 2 year old as did a lot of the displays, she was so pleased to get her certificate. The...More

I have live worked and visited Weymouth over 45 years but NEVER knew about this Gem, Weymouth Council don't have much to offer with they reduced ingenuity but this is a credit. Well done

Despite having stayed in Weymouth before I had never been to the Fort and I am really pleased that I did this time! It told the story of how it was built, what it has been used for throughout the years, it's gradual fall into...More

We spent nearly three hours here and I am sure some people spend considerably longer if they have an interest in war memorabilia The grounds outside are beautiful with a sea walk A quick snack in the restaurant was also very good

Hi I am bringing eight sea cadets aged ten to twelve from Bristol to Weymouth July 16 -17th and am wondering wether to pay you a visit. AS I have not been there myself could you advise me if there is anything that would appeal to this age group within the fort as funds are very limited. Many thanks Mary.
