We do this walk each time we come to the Lakes. It's a short sharp climb to get a fantastic view right down the length of the Lake. We were lucky enough to watch RAF planes skirt down the Lake on training exercise. Once you...More

Started this walk from the town, initially worried about the difficulty of this after reading some reviews. No problem for us, great views at the top but we would have preferred a longer walk! Will try a different and longer walk when visiting the area...More

A short but sometimes steep walk is rewarded with some lovely picture postcard views of lake Windermere and the distant mountains. It certainly blew the cobwebs off this two semi-fit fifty somethings. Be prepared to be stared at by wary sheep and to negotiate the...More

Absolutely loved it! Did the walk because of other reviews and was well prepared for it, complete with a little picnic. The weather was beautiful and the panoramic view was worth the steep-ish (if one is not all that fit) walk. I also enjoyed freely...More

This was a local walk when stopping in Bowness, with spectacular views over the whole of Lake Windermere.

Join the walk from the center of Bowness (head to the Royal Oak pub and keep walking uphill right to the top of the road, you'll see a gate to go through with signposts) an easy walk will take you up past Post Knott (not...More

This walk is easy to find at the top of Brantfell Road. The first part of the walk is uphill naturally, but is fine for most able-bodied people, not too strenuous. The walk is well signposted at the beginning but once you are nearing the...More

The walk up to Post-Knott and then to Brant fell was enjoyable despite the rainy and cold weather. It gets quite windy after post-knott but the views from the top are splendid.

We started from Kendal road and straight up to Post Knott. The walk took us longer than an hour to complete but this is because we took in the views and surroundings. You definitely need walking boots as some sections of the walk get muddy...More

You couldn't get to the top of the fell with any kind of pram. It's very steep and I don't think some could manage it on foot.
