We booked the Bowness to Lakeside boat trip, which only costs £11 each. It takes 45 minutes each way and provides you with the most beautiful views. Luckily for us the weather was glorious, but it was still chilly when sat outside on the top deck. Initially people try and grab a good seat but before long, most people are... More

The round trip from Bowness to Lakeside was enjoyable. The price is about right and we had decent weather on the way out. Nice information and banter from the captain without going OTT.

There are a number of cruises to choose from of differing durations. We chose the 45 minute journey along the east bank to Ambleside where we alighted for a walk and sightseeing and then caught a return via the west bank later in the day. Be there well before the scheduled return crossing time to be sure of a place... More

I took the Yellow Cruise from Lakeside to Bowness which takes 45 minutes in each direction and costs £11 at present; plus of course parking charges at Lakeside. You can of course combine the cruise with a trip to the motor museum close to Lakeside, (shuttle buses are provided), which enables you to benefit from not only free car parking,... More

Very relaxing and also featured a bar on the lower deck. Great way to experience the lake without driving to each stop.

Staff repeatedly refused to offer a disability discount even though the disabled gentleman was in a full leg brace and had his disability identification blue badge and proof of dwp disability and mobility as his carer did not have a carers card which isn't issued in the area they are from!

This time we decided on a trip to Brockhole. It was a bit nippy so we sat downstairs, we could see the skipper sailing the boat which kept our son entertained. We could hear the tour clearly and enjoyed a nice Baileys coffee to warm up.

The lake is obviously gorgeous and seeing it from a boat is ideal. Boats are old clunkers but they feel safe. Most of the staff are welcoming. Our outbound skipper however was a miserable so and so. Such a shame because the much younger skipper on the way back was much more professional and clearly enjoyed his job. Tickets for... More
