The Palace Theatre is a true community theatre for the English Riviera, set in the heart of Paignton , and is the oldest working theatre in Torbay, constructed back in 1890. It is owned and run by Torbay Council. The theatre has a seating capacity of 380. It has undergone a major refurbishment and it looks fantastic. Really low level acting and humour, including the main character reading from a script! If your going to take the micky out of reglion, Shame on you. At least the kids didn't Pick up on how poor the show was.

We have entertained again to the very best pantomime of the season. This year its Dick Whittington, another brilliant production by the Paignton Pantomime Players. This must be the eighth year we've been and we are constantly amazed at the very high standard of each production. There must be over 200 costumes this year, and a fabulous live band, this... More

Just got back from seeing Dick Whittington at the Palace Avenue Theatre Paignton, what a lovely, funny, colourful, experience. The greatly improved interior of the cinema provides modern comfort with a really good close up view. This production was fantastic, from the lead actors to the local youngsters displaying talent and enthusiasm in a huge selection of colourful costume. A... More

The show was great. I took mom and 8 of her friends. Most of them have mobility problems of one sort or another. They gave us most of the front row, that helped as a couple of them have mobility walkers. A nice gentleman put the walkers to one side for them. The disability toilet was near to the entrance... Spent our first night in Paignton watching "Death on the Nile" and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't know how many of the folk there that night are volunteers but they were all very welcoming. Very good acting and one of my favourite plays - and now venues.

Absolutely fabulous show. Took our 3 year old grandaughter to her first ever show and she was transfixed the whole time. Lovely to have 'Glinda' doing selfies with the children in the break and the cast stayed on stage for photos after the show finished. Awesome!

My daughter chose this show to watch and when it started my heart sank as there was one bad joke after another - but how wrong I was, as soon as Dorothy got into Oz the show really picked up. Toto's dance in the wild forest was legendary and, for me, the Wicked Witch stole the show with the Cowardly... More

We went to see this show last night, it was fantastic. I would highly recommend this show. The tickets are very cheap, and the cast were out of this world.

My family had a lovely evening here watching Murder On The Nile. The acting was great and very well done, well worth the money. The Theatre itself is very nice and well positioned in Paignton with plenty of parking and disabled spaces. My only criticism is that I couldn't sit in my seat in Row E. The space between the... This show is amazing. A special school holiday treat not to be missed. This show is on every Thursday throughout August. Very professional actors, scenery, music, all brilliant. The venue is perfect. Staff, bar area, toilets all first class. Easy accessibility for wheelchairs. This theatre is well known for putting on a good variety of shows so worth keep their... More
