A proper pub and proper beer

A traditional pub. No posh cocktails, no fancy drinks, no gimmicks, just good old fashioned ale served in a good old fashioned pub enjoyed by good old (and young!) beer drinkers!

If old fashioned pubs are your thing, this is the one. An Isle of man institution. Friendly and local, probably time to ditch the faux brick wallpaper though....

I came across this pub just in time, I was in Douglas for the beer festival and it was great. The night before the festival I tried a couple of pubs and the choice of beer was very poor as was the beer it self!! The Rover's is great local pub with local beer and friendly local ale drinkers. A... More

Friendly staff, very good Bushy's beer. Lots of rooms. Lively atmosphere and Rory Gallagher on the great rock juke box!

A local pub that keeps an excellent beers brewed on the isle of man, Bushy's bitter, Busy's old tail. They are the drinks I had in the pub, but do not go dressed up it is a down to earth pub. The staff are helpful and you are served very quickly, because it is a very busy pub

Was taken here by a friend at work. Was a little reluctant to be honest but i had a great night. Was a little studenty for my liking but it had a great atmosphere, good beer and I have been back since.

One of the very few proper pubs left on the Island now that Okells have nearly finished their 'modernisation' roll out, but it seems no matter how much the brewery want to spend tarting up their establishments, they will never be able to equal the atmosphere and warmth of this fantastic watering hole. With a real log fire often burning... More

This is a great local pub with loads of character. Excellent local ale at a very reasonable price. The pub has five rooms all great for enjoying a pint of the local brew. It has an unusual room dedicated to Blackburn Rovers, they need all the support they can get lol. So if you are a real ale drinker and... More
